Paying with your smartphone now also in the cafeteria

There is always a lot going on at WKS KV Bildung in Bern. That means, the canteen Prima Luna GmbH is always in full operation. But since Corona and the “Online Schooling” possibilities, the workload decreased significantly. However, this also increased the demand to be able to pay at the snack and coffee machines with the smartphone. The vending machines in the WKS building on Schwarztorstrasse were only equipped with the payment options cash and Legic.

By installing our payment controller, it was immediately possible to offer all possible payment methods at the machines without any further investment costs. In addition, operations could continue with Legic and cash without any further adjustments.

In the first month, the customer acceptance of SMS and Twint was tested. It turned out that after just a few weeks, people were no longer paying with cash at the machines.

We also equipped the coffee machines on-site with our payment solution without any problems, which worked right away. Furthermore, payment with Legic and cash was also ensured without the need for further modifications or components. We were also able to dispense with the installation of a Twint beacon, as our solution works with a static QR code.

After this very simple integration without any change to the existing installation, it was quickly demonstrated that customers are ready for mobile and contactless payment options. Moreover, additional payment methods can be activated, e.g. Postcard, Applepay and Googlepay etc.
