Since restaurants in Switzerland have been closed for some time, many restaurants have to look for an alternative source of income. Many restaurants have the possibility to offer take-away. The company Bagelboys GmbH in Zurich now also wanted to offer take-away, but in a different variant. The idea was to deliver a Sunday plait – which customers can order in advance – directly to the customer’s milk box every Sunday. In order to enable fast, contactless and uncomplicated delivery in times of Corona, it was important in the implementation of the project that customers can pay by themselves.
The suppliers have no contact with the customers, so no cash is exchanged. Payment is made by a QR code sticker, which is affixed to the packaging of the plaits. Just a simply scan with the camera of the smartphone and the customer comes directly to the payment page.
The customer can now choose from the following payment methods: Cell phone bill (SMS), Twint and credit card. After a short identification via confirmation code, the customer can be identified by his mobile phone number. Bagelboys GmbH can therefore match the mobile phone number in the database and assign the payment. The product flyers are sent out weekly so potential new customers can be automatically acquired for the next Sunday. With this, the customers subscribe to the delivery of the “Sunday plait”.
This payment page can be expanded by turning it into a web shop very easily. Hence, the customer could select his desired favorite product via the same page, pay and have it delivered directly. Furthermore, additional payment methods can be activated, e.g. Postcard, Applepay and Googlepay etc.
After just a few weeks, it was clear that the new offer was well received. The processing of payments runs simply and smoothly. Customers appreciate the uncomplicated and fast way of delivery and payment.
